Tata Steel Foundation (the Foundation) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited. It was established on August 16, 2016, as a CSR implementing organisation focused upon co-creating solutions with tribal and excluded communities to address their development challenges. It is a Section 8 company and is currently working in the states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and Punjab. In FY23, the Foundation reached 3 million lives through its work on Public Health, Education, Livelihoods, Gender and Community Enterprises, Infrastructure, and Tribal Identity, spending Rs 500 crores in the process.
